Delete Microsoft.VisualBasic.dll reference in the assemblies

description

  • Introduction:
The project is developed in Visual Basic 2008.
  • Antecedents:
Visual Studio 2008 adds a reference to Microsoft.VisualBasic.dll assembly in each project of the solution.
The assemblies, will have to be compiled from the command line, because Visual Studio 2008 isn't be able to compile the assemblies without this reference. With Visual Studio 2008, the reference to Microsoft.VisualBasic.dll is added ALWAYS.
  • Objective:
The objective is remove this reference in all assemblies of the solution.
In this task, we will remove the reference to Microsoft.VisualBasic.dll for each project, and we will prepare the batch files to compile the assemblies without this reference from the command line.
  • Other issues:
We can compile the projects from Visual Studio 2008, but when we will prepare a beta or final release we will have to use the batch files to avoid add the Microsoft.VisualBasic.dll reference.
